Minh Tran is the founder of Minh Tran, PC, a small Houston-based boutique firm which specializes in corporate "in-house" counseling for start-up businesses, small to medium size corporations, in intellectual properties and corporate business matters. He received his B.S. Chemical Engineering degree from Rice University in 1984, Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in 1994, Intellectual Property Law LLM at University of Houston. Besides practicing law, Minh is an active community volunteer. He works with several non-profit organizations, government entities and corporations. Currently, he is sitting on HISD Bond Oversight Committee, HISD Asian Advisory Committee, Houston Independent Police Oversight Board, HPD Shooting Review Committee, River Oaks ES Nature Center. Minh is a Senior Fellow, American Leadership Forum Class XXIV, and Center for Houston Future graduate, Winter 2002.

A musi, an academ, and a Wiessman, I received a BA in English and a BM in performance. I went on to earn my MM in performance from the University of Florida in 2005. My Owl identity has always remained strong, and until just recently, I worked as a writer in Rice's Office of Development. Currently, I am a technical writer at National Oilwell Varco and a private piano instructor. I enjoy being plugged in to Houston's music scene and have performed with the Houston Chinese Traditional Music Group, the Cory Wilson Jazz Collective, Kevin Charles and Trucker's Choice, the Rice Jazz Band and the Houston Yellow River Chorus. My civic involvement includes volunteering for the Chinese American Citizens Alliance, the Asian American Ambassadors, and Fei-Tian, a newly formed nonprofit music ensemble specializing in contemporary Asian folk music. Judy Le is the director of Leadership Rice, responsible for administering curricular and co-curricular activities designed to help Rice students realize their potential for leadership. Since graduating from Rice, Judy has worked in the business consulting industry, started her own business, and held various positions in higher education. She has an extensive background in leadership development, having served as the program director for Leadership Houston and prior to that advised several academic institutions regarding undergraduate leadership education. Judy also serves as a lead facilitator for LeaderShape, a weeklong leadership institute for undergraduate students.
Judy holds a masters degree in Higher Education Leadership from UT Austin and bachelors degree in Sociology from Rice University (Sid '00).

I graduated from Rice University in 2012 with a PhD in Chemical Engineering . I joined Shell Oil Company and work as a Research Process Engineer in the Fluid Cat Cracking R&D team at the Shell Technology Center Houston (formerly Westhollow Technology Center). My key responsibilities include developing the FCC process model and providing model support to the manufacturing units in Shell refineries and third party customers. Apart from Chemical engineering, I enjoy traveling, leadership activities and event organizing. At Rice and now at Shell, I am involved with several organizations, where I love to work with diverse teams to organize socio-cultural events for the broader community.

Past Presidents (Advisory Board)
After graduating from high school in Lima, Peru, Dr. Chang completed his undergraduate study at Rice University which was then followed by a M.D. degree from University of Texas Medical School as well as a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from Rice University. Dr. Chang has been in practice in the Houston area for more than 20 years. During that time, he has served as president of Ledbetter Clinic, the oldest group practice in Houston as well as on the Governing Boards of several hospitals. Dr. Chang is an eminent expert on external counterpulsation therapy (ECP) which is a new highly effective and noninvasive treatment for patients with CAD and he was featured in both local TV channels as well as newspapers. Dr. Chang was recently chosen by US News and World Report as one of the 1000 best cardiologists in USA and he was the only Asian-American cardiologist to be so honored among the 75 chosen in the Houston area.
Dr. Chang's commitment to the Houston community is demonstrated through his service on the boards of multiple organizations over the years. He has served as President of Chinese Health Service Center which provides free medical care to indigent, elderly Chinese-Americans and was the co-founder and medical director of the largest Chinese-American annual health fair for the last twenty years. He was the gala chair for the CPC Scholarship Ball in 2009 and the Chinese Community Center Ball in 2010. He currently serves as president of Asian American Family Services, the only nonprofit in Southern USA that caters to the mental health needs of the Asian Americans and vice chair of Chinese Community Center which is the largest Asian American social service agency in Southern USA.
Dr. Chang is also interested in the cultural aspect of the local community and he has served as chief editor of "Southern Monthly" in the early 70's which was the most widely circulated Chinese monthly magazine in Southern USA at that time, founder of Whirlwind Drama Club which produced the first Chinese-speaking play in Southern USA and director of its first dramatic production, organizer of the first summer camp for Chinese-American college students in Texas and founder of the first Chinese Classical Instrumental Music Society in Southern USA.
Dr. Chang always believes that active participation is the only way to get your voice heard and to make a difference. In addition to be actively involved in politi- cal campaigns at the local, state and federal level with his wife, he has also served in several professional and medical organizations including the Harris County Hospital District Board of Managers, Harris County Medical Society and more recently as the first Asian-American member of the Texas Medical Board.

Cecil Fong is the Executive Director for Diversity Summit which promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Its annual conference attracts over 500 attendees each year from Houston area companies and features CEO Forum, Coach's Corner, and professional development workshops.
Cecil is also the Executive Director for Education Rainbow Challenge which promotes interest in math and science for inner city students. Over the past 12 years, over 10,000 elementary and middle school students in HISD has participated in its semi-annual math and science challenges.
Cecil organized the annual OCA Asian Leadership Forum which aims to develop leadership and professional skills for Asian American professionals and students.
Cecil retired in 2010 after 34 years with Shell Oil. He has held a number technical and management positions in E&P, Chemicals, Lubricants, Pipeline, Projects and Technology, Information Technology, and Supply & Distribution. He has both Master and Bachelor degrees in Chemical Engineering from Rice University.
Cecil is a senior fellow with Leadership Houston and American Leadership Forum. He has served on Harris County Sheriff 287(g) Advisory Committee, City of Houston International Trade and Development Council, and City of Houston Contract Compliance Commission.
Cecil is on the boards of OCA, Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, HISD Asian Advisory Board, Chinese Professional Club Scholarship Fund Inc. and Chinese Community Center Advisory Board. He has served as Board Chair for Chinese Community Center, Co-President for Association of Chinese Organization in Houston, President for Chinese Professional Club, President of Houston 80-20 Asian American PAC and President of Rice University Community of Asian Alumni.

Anne Chao graduated from Wellesley College and received master's and doctoral degrees from Rice University, where she lectures in the History Department, focusing on the field of modern Chinese history, and in the Program in Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities. Dr. Chao serves on the governing boards of the Houston Ballet, the Houston Public Library Foundation, St. John’s School and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She serves on the advisory boards of Teach for America and Rice University’s Chao Center for Asian Studies, Shepherd School of Music and Center for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality. |
