On May 4, 2026, the Rice University Community of Asian Alumni (RUCAA) hosted its inaugural Golden Ceremony, welcoming the Class of 2026 into a network of over 10,000 Asian alumni spanning more than 125 countries. Due to the overwhelming response, the event was moved to a larger venue, a testament to the excitement and pride surrounding this milestone celebration.
During the ceremony, graduating seniors and graduate students received heritage cords presented by RUCAA alumni, symbolizing the bond between Rice’s Asian alumni community and the generations who will carry it forward. The cords reflect the pride of being a Rice graduate alongside the richness of our shared Asian heritage, rooted in traditions of fortune, resilience and community.
The celebration continued at Huff House with light refreshments, a photo backdrop and a toast to the newest members of the RUCAA family.
We are so proud of each and every one of you. Congratulations, Class of 2026. We can’t wait to see where you go from here and the see what you bring to our RUCAA community.
